St Albans Hospital
- Urgent Care Unit -
At a meeting on Tuesday 30 March
in the Old Town Hall, two board members from the NHS Primary Care Trust (Andrew Parker and Simon Rouse) spoke about the recent abrupt cancellation of the proposed Urgent Care Unit at the Hospital.
Despite determined questioning by our parliamentary candidates, and members of the public, very little information was forthcoming (mainly because of rules restricting public services when local elections are approaching). It was said that neither of the 'bids' to provide the service were satisfactory.
St Albans residents will continue to have to trek to Watford to access A&E services for the foreseeable future.
